A new project kicked off in July of 2006.
The Curtain Bank
, a community initiative between Genesis Energy and HEET.
The Curtain Bank recycles donations of curtains and distributes them free of charge to families on low incomes. The aim of the Curtain Bank is to help keep families warmer in the winter months and enable them to reduce the amount of money they have to spend on heating.
Through the Curtain Bank, HEET has the donated curtains relined and cleaned if necessary, and then distributed with assistance from social agencies.
Once again following their key objectives, HEET works to improve the lives of low-income families by making their homes warm, dry and energy efficient, and the Curtain Bank project supports this goal.
